We had such a wonderful weekend with Celise! On Saturday, we walked in to see that not only were her oxygen stats much better, but her eyes were open!! This was the first time we’ve gotten to look our baby girl in the eyes! It turned out she had a collapsed lung, but it appears to be in working order once again. Once she’s able to have surgery and remove the compression from her trachea and left bronchus she should be feeling much better.

In even more amazing news…
(What could be better than being able to look into our daughter’s eyes??)

WE GOT THE MEDEVAC!!!!!

We’re still arranging the final details, but thanks to some extremely generous and well connected people, along with all of your shares and donations, we have what we need to make it happen! It looks like I will be able to fly the whole way with her while Dillon follows behind on commercial travel. This will be my first time back in my hometown of Charleston in almost 8 years, and Celise’s first US destination.

THANK YOU. Thank you all so, so much. The NICU is a rollercoaster ride (0/10 do not recommend), but the amazing doctors, nurses, and all of you who have reached out have made it so much more bearable. Thanks to all of you, we’re bringing our baby girl home.
