We are finally, officially, HOME!! Celise and I landed in Charleston Saturday night and were greeted at MUSC by a whole army ready to receive her. They’ll be doing lots of tests and imaging over the next few days, and this afternoon all of the doctors will meet to discuss her case and decide the best path forward. It was an incredibly grueling journey with two stops to refuel, but she handled it like a champ!
After leaving her in the excellent care of the MUSC CICU doctors and nurses, I made it to our apartment and had my first real sleep since she was born. I know this is just the beginning for her and we still have a long road ahead, but I finally feel like I can relax.
